SANRAL manages and controls the national road network on behalf of the Department of Transport. Its 22 197km network includes provincial roads it manages on behalf of the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and North West provincial governments.
Its operations focus on:
– Roads: development, maintenance and rehabilitation of national roads
– Road Safety: safe road infrastructure and road safety awareness programmes
– Stakeholders: communication with stakeholders from road users to government
– Mobility: technology and innovation to ensure the national economy keeps moving.
